Section 36 of the Child and Family Services Act provides the Board with the authority to conduct a review of a child’s residential placement in certain circumstances.
A child or youth who is 12 or older may apply to the Board for a review of where he or she should be placed if his or her placement has been reviewed by what is called a residential placement advisory committee. The child or youth can apply for the following reasons:
- if the child or youth disagrees with his or her placement; or
- if the recommendations of the RPAC are not being followed.
