Emergency Secure Treatment Application

The Child and Family Services Act, section 124, gives the Child and Family Services Review Board the mandate to hear applications from any person, including the child or youth, requesting an order to release a child or youth from a secure treatment program.

A secure treatment program is a program for the treatment of children with mental disorders, in which continuous restrictions are imposed on the liberty of the children for a period that does not exceed 30 days.
