Is this for Me?

If you have asked for or received a service from a children’s aid society and:

  • have a complaint about how the society has handled your written complaint;
  • have a complaint about how the society failed to hear your concerns about the services that you asked for or received; or
  • have a complaint about how the society failed to provide reasons for decisions that affect your interests;

you may apply to the Child and Family Services Review Board to have your complaint heard. Please note that an application for review by the Board may be filed:

  • directly to the Board, without any prior complaint to the society;
  • after the society has completed its internal complaint process; or
  • before the society’s internal complaint process has been completed.

If you have asked for or received a service from children’s aid society and:

  • have a concern about an inaccuracy in your file with the society;

you must address this concern through the children’s aid society’s internal complaint review panel before you can apply to the Child and Family Services Review Board to have your complaint heard.
